VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that tickets for the Cascadia Cup match at Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, June 11, have now sold out. Whitecaps FC fans, meanwhile, can now choose from two purchase options for Vancouver's Cascadia Cup match at Portland Timbers on Saturday, August 20.
Uniglobe Vision Travel - the official travel services provider of Whitecaps FC - is offering a special package to the August 20 match versus the Timbers at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Oregon. Starting at $249, the package includes bus transportation, a ticket to the match, food and giveaways, and overnight hotel accommodation in "The City of Roses". Through Uniglobe, single game tickets are also available for $35 including service fee and applicable taxes. Tickets and overnight packages can be purchased by visiting uniglobevisiontravel.net/whitecaps.
This will be the first Major League Soccer match between Whitecaps FC and the Timbers, as both teams are in the midst of their inaugural MLS seasons. Along with Seattle Sounders FC, Vancouver and Portland partake in a supporters-driven Pacific Northwest derby known as the Cascadia Cup. The rivalry between the clubs dates back to the 1970's in the old North American Soccer League. This season, Portland are currently in sixth place in the MLS Western Conference standings with a record of 5W-4L-2D.
