MLSsoccer.com unveiled today that Whitecaps FC defender Alain Rochat is one of five nominees for the AT&T Goal of the Week.
After a terrific run from teammate Davide Chiumiento, Rochat received the ball on the left-hand side, as he sprung up field and uncorked a rocket into the back of the net. The goal was the lone of the match, as the ‘Caps defeated Philadelphia Union 1-0 on Bell Pitch at Empire Field for their first win since opening day.

Rochat’s nomination comes a week after teammate Eric Hassli took home AT&T Goal of the Week honours with a brilliant strike against Pacific Northwest rivals Seattle Sounders FC.
