Coming off their first Reserve League win - a 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders FC reserves at Swangard Stadium back on August 9 - Colin Miller's squad will be looking to continue their climb up the Reserve League's West Division standings after surpassing Chivas USA reserves and LA Galaxy reserves nearly two weeks ago.

With Portland and Vancouver sitting third and fourth respectively in the West Division after six matches, Whitecaps FC reserves will look to continue their strong play that currently sees them on a two-match unbeaten streak heading into consecutive road games, with only four matches remaining in their schedule.

While rosters have yet to be finalized, Reserve League matches are a chance for Vancouver's squad players to impress Whitecaps FC head coach Tom Soehn and earn a spot in the first XI, while providing an opportunity for players to build match fitness. Players who have benefited from Reserve League action include young strikers Long Tan and Omar Salgado, while experienced players like midfielder John Thorrington and captain Jay DeMerit have used Reserve League action as a chance to recover from injuries.

Following Sunday's clash in The City of Roses, Whitecaps FC reserves have three Reserve League games remaining in September and October, including a home fixture versus Portland on Monday, October 3.
