Interested in getting to know Whitecaps FC midfielder Davide Chiumiento better? The ‘Caps leader in assists this season sat down for a one-on-one interview and revealed some interesting answers. Chiumiento highlights, “For me, it’s just to enjoy and don’t think about anything. I’m a player from the stomach” (Marc Weber – The Province).

Marc Weber also brings us an interesting tale about going on the road to Portland with a group of fans who’ve branded themselves “The Handbags” (Marc Weber – The Province).

Next season the ‘Caps welcome Martin Rennie as head coach. In this article, the Scotsman details how his business background has helped him in coaching. “I was around managers and owners – very driven, very smart – who knew how to get the best out of people” (Marc Weber – The Province).

Lastly, Jason McWilliams implores fans to join in the chanting and singing at matches (Jason McWilliams – The Province).

There were great stories in The Vancouver Sun too today.

After five matches with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, defender Jordan Harvey has already contributed three assists. “Things have just fallen for me,” said the 5-foot-11, 170-pound left back. “We have great offensive players and when you give them the ball, they’re going to do things with it” (Bruce Constantineau – Vancouver Sun).

As Vancouver Whitecaps FC prepare for their next match against Houston Dynamo this Saturday afternoon at Empire Field, captain Jay DeMerit continues to believe that he made the right choice in coming to Vancouver and that the long term perspective still looks bright.“This is where I wanted to be. I came here for the right reasons, and that was to be part of something from the beginning” (Iain MacIntyre – Vancouver Sun).
