BMO Team of the Week competition came to a close with a team from Vaughan, Ontario winning $125,000 towards a community soccer field refurbishment, a $5,000 donation to a charity of their choice, which they have donated to the Canadian Paralympic Committee, as well as a road trip to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC match versus Colorado Rapids on October 22.
After two weeks of voting, the Glen Shields Sun Devils 2000 Girls soccer team from Vaughan, Ontario received 72,677 votes of the 286,388 votes cast by Canadians across the country.
BMO Team of the Week was a three month competition where teams were nominated online. A finalist was chosen each week from April 20 through July 13, who were selected by a panel of judges based on the team’s pride, spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. The contest concluded with Canadians voting online for their favourite team
