VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:
With Vancouver Whitecaps FC reserves playing at Swangard Stadium today against San Jose Earthquakes reserves, the ‘blue and white’ will look to climb up the Western Conference table.  Read about the match preview, the history of MLS Reserve competition, and how certain ‘Caps are developing throughout the 10-match schedule (Marc Weber - The Province). 

With a majority of students heading back to school today, the ‘Caps want to remind parents that  Sam Lenarduzzi will be teaching a soccer development camp in Nanaimo this weekend. “Whitecaps FC camp will be held at the Beban Park Gyro Youth Sports Fields on Sept. 10-11, featuring instructions from Whitecaps FC coaches. GLOBAL SOCCER REPORT:
After a 4-1 victory over St. Lucia on Friday, the Canadian men’s national soccer team is back at it tonight as they take on Puerto Rico in ‘Match Day 2’ of the 2014 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. The match can be seen on Rogers Sportsnet One at 5p.m. PT (Canadian Soccer Association).     



“The Canadian Soccer Association today released ticket sales information for the 2012 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying tournament that will be held at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, BC, from January 19 to 29, 2012. Tournament packages will go on sale September 9, 2011, with affordable prices featuring an average ticket price of just under $6.50 per match across 15 matches in eight days of world class soccer” (whitecapsfc.com).
