'Caps Chronicle - Sept 12, 2011

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:

A 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon against New York Red Bulls earned the ‘Caps their tenth draw of the season away from Empire Field. Learn more about Whitecaps FC  midfielder Davide Chiumiento’s great goal, Joe Cannon’s marvelous saves, and the shorthanded, 10-man NYRB squad (Marc Weber – The Province).

From New York’s perspective, the 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena was a disappointing result due to the playoff implications in the Eastern Conference standings. "We're just [looking for] any possible way of making the playoffs," said forward Juan Agudelo, who scored the Red Bulls' lone goal (Big Apple Soccer).

After an amazing goal by Chiumiento to put Whitecaps FC up 1-0 before halftime, the ‘Caps relinquished the lead in the second half after NYRB’s stormed back to beat ‘Caps ‘keeper Joe Cannon. In this report, Bruce Constantineau breaks the match down from both angles (Bruce Constantineau – Vancouver Sun).

It was another busy week for the 'Caps Mustapha Jarju, who spent last week representing his country in international play. That fatigue has made it tough for the Gambian, but Tom Soehn insists that everyone needs to stay patient (Marc Weber - The Province).

With the countdown continuing until EA Sports FIFA 12 makes it North American debut, it seems a secret has been unleashed. What could the new feature be? Watch the video to find out (The Gaffer – EPL Talk).
