VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:

With Montreal Impact joining Major League Soccer (MLS) as the 19th team next season, there exists the possibility that Vancouver Whitecaps FC could see an unbalanced schedule featuring more matches against their regional rivals in 2012 (Marc Weber – The Province). 


Last week, 2011 Whitecaps FC women’s team member Ciara McCormack wrote an article titled “Don’t let pushy parents spoil the fun”.  This week, writer Megan Stewart lends her support to McCormack’s article (Megan Stewart – Vancouver Courier).


After scoring 43 goals in 118 appearances for Belgium side RARC Mons, Whitecaps FC forward Mustapha Jarju continues the hunt for his first point with the ‘Caps. “It's a little bit frustrating because I want to be on the pitch and do my best for the group and for the fans” (Bruce Constantineau – Vancouver Sun).

Last night, CONCACAF Champions League action continued with Toronto FC earning a 1-0 victory of Tauro FC while Seattle Sounders were defeated 1-0 against CS Herediano. Check out tonight’s match-ups including schedules, standings and past results in the quest to earn a berth to the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup (CCL).

The 2012 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying tournament will be held at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, BC, from January 19 to 29, 2012.
