Only 1,000 tickets remain for Whitecaps FC's inaugural match on Bell Pitch downtown

Whitecaps FC announced today that less than 1,000 tickets remain for the match versus expansion cousins and Pacific Northwest rivals Portland Timbers on Sunday, October 2 at 1:30 p.m. PT.  This match, the first at the ‘Caps new home, will provide fans with the opportunity to see many of the soccer-specific elements that were installed as part of the massive renovation of BC Place. 


Fans are encouraged to act quickly to secure their tickets to this match.  Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centres, online at ticketmaster.ca/whitecaps, or Charge-by-Phone at 1.855.6.GO-CAPS (1.855.646.2277).


“With 20,000 tickets already sold to tomorrow’s match, this match is one that fans do not want to miss,” said Paul Barber, Whitecaps FC chief executive officer.  “In addition, Thursday evening’s match – followed by another weeknight match on October 12 – will provide another unique experience for fans to enjoy under the night lights at the new stadium.”


Tickets for all remaining matches including Thursday, October 6 versus Real Salt Lake at 6:30 p.m. PT, Wednesday, October 12 versus D.C. United at 7 p.m. PT, and the last match of the season versus Colorado Rapids on Saturday, October 22 at 4 p.m. PT can be purchased at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centres, online at ticketmaster.ca/whitecaps, or Charge-by-Phone at 1.855.6.GO-CAPS (1.855.646.2277).






The newly renovated BC Place was officially opened on Friday evening. Whitecaps FC players Joe Cannon, Davide Chiumiento, Eric Hassli, and captain Jay DeMerit were all on hand with members of the CFL's BC Lions, as they all helped British Columbia Premier Christy Clark with the ceremonial ribbon cutting.
