'Caps season ticket holders win trip to MLS Cup

MLS Cup

Two Vancouver Whitecaps FC season ticket holders were the lucky winners of a trip to Los Angeles, California to see Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup this year.  They were selected as they renewed their season tickets and were entered into a draw for the trip.  Jennifer Gibson and Annette Wiebe were ecstatic to get the news a few months ago via voicemails left by Joe Cannon and Jay DeMerit.  Gibson and Wiebe were excited about the chance to take in MLS Cup first hand.

There were many highlights from their trip including meeting fans from around the league.  In particular, Jennifer recalled one instance where a Galaxy fan actually apologized for the rainy weather.  She explained that, to her, the weather was just fine because it reminded her of home and that really, this was nothing in comparison.

Another highlight was taking a bus down to the game with a bunch of Houston fans.  Originally planning to take a cab to the game, both Jennifer and Annette instead were able to take a bus to the match game.  Most of the fans on the bus were Houston fans that were singing and chanting in anticipation of the final match that was about to take place.

When they arrived at the stadium, the atmosphere was unbelievable both in terms of volume and intensity.  The game itself was amazing to see live.  The action was end to end with the LA Galaxy scoring a late goal to take the win.

Jennifer and Annette thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the MLS Cup and recommend it to anyone who’s thinking of going next year because no matter who’s playing, it’s sure to be a great time!
