United Soccer Leagues (USL) announced on Monday that Vancouver Whitecaps FC have been nominated for three 2011 W-League team awards. The club is up for both the W-League Marketing Award and the Organization of the Year, while long-time team manager Diane Voice is a finalist for the Betsy McAdams Key Grip Award given to an excellent non-executive member of a club’s staff.
USL will honor the teams, executives and staff members that set a standard for excellence during the 2011 USL PRO, PDL and W-League seasons at the 2011 USL Hall of Fame Banquet this Friday, December 16, on Clearwater Beach in Florida. The event, part of the 2011 USL Annual General Meeting, will also feature the inductions of nine new members of the USL Hall of Fame – including former Whitecaps FC women’s player Christine Sinclair.
The USL AGM runs from Thursday, December 15, through Sunday, December 18, at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach.
