'Caps Chronicle: 4 Days Away!

'Caps Chronicle - 4

WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:

It's exactly ‘four’ days until the season opener against Montreal Impact on March 10th at BC Place, so to add to the excitement we'll be doing a countdown themed ‘Caps Chronicle for each day leading up to First Kick. Let’s take a look at the number ‘four’.

Whitecaps FC are looking to improve on their defensive record last year, and that starts with the back‘four’. The additions of Young-Pyo Lee, Martin Bonjour and the continued strong play of number‘4’ Alain Rochat and captain Jay DeMerit saw the 'Caps concede no goals during the recent Disney Pro Soccer Classic. DeMerit has become quite the wordsmith as well, writing a blog for goal.com.In his most recent blog, he talks about the anticipation around First Kick and the budding rivalries in MLS. DeMerit believes Seattle Sounders FC, Portland Timbres, Toronto FC and Montreal Impact are Whitecaps FC‘four’most fierce rivals. (Jay DeMerit - Goal.com)

Michael Nanchoff made his professional debut for Whitecaps FC as a substitute in a game versus Real Salt Lake on June‘4’, 2011, and this year he will turn 2‘4’on September 2‘4’..Before then, the versatile midfielder is looking to make an impact on March 10 and beyond. The Canadian women's national team fell 2-0 to France in the Cyprus Cup today. Though the tournament finale didn't go their way, they're still well on their way with preparatations for the upcoming London 2012 Olympics. With a little over 'four' months to go until the Olympics, head coach John Herdman will hold a training camp in Vancouver, and Whitecaps FC will look to help out anyway they can.
