'Caps Chronicle - March 13, 2012

WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:

It was a fantastic start for Whitecaps FC on Saturday. The two goals notched bySebastian Le TouxandCamilowere both works of art and great team goals. The staff at MLSsoccer.com also thought the 'Caps scores each stood out, as they have both been nominated for Goal of the Week. Make sure to vote for either Le Toux or Camilo.(MLSsoccer.com)

Last year’s team MVP and top scorer Camilo is back with Whitecaps FC and he's looking to score even more goals this year and make a run at the MLS Golden Boot. “I think I can score more,” stated Camilo. Only time will tell how Camilo will fare this season, but he’s off to a great start. (Marc Weber - The Province)

Soccer teams are often great examples of cultural mosaics. Whitecaps FC are no different; their back four is made up of five different nationalities: American, Argentinean, Korean and Swiss-Canadian.Naturally, however, English is slowly starting to make its way as the predominant language on the back line. WHITECAPS FC IN THE HOUSE:

Whitecaps FC got their MLS season started the right way with a big 2-0 win over their Canadian rivals the Montreal Impact. However, Whitecaps FC aren’t getting ahead of themselves this year. “The players realize it’s three points, which is excellent, but that’s all it is,” said Head Coach Martin Rennie. The ‘Caps are just taking it one game at a time and the next one on the schedule says they’re playing Chivas USA at the Home Depot Centre on Saturday at 7:30 pm, which you can watch on Sportsnet pacific.
