Saturday will be veritable soccer buffet for fans of both Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the UEFA Champions League. First, supporters can whet their appetite by watching the UEFA Champions League final on the second largest video board in North America at BC Place. Kickoff for the match between FC Bayern Munich (Germany) and Chelsea FC (England) is 11:45 a.m. PT, so we’ll be opening the doors for you to come on in at 11:15 a.m. PT. WHITECAPS FC
Next up is the main course, as Whitecaps FC compete in the first Cascadia Cup match of the season against Seattle Sounders FC at 2 p.m. PT> It’ll be an all-hands-on-deck affair for Vancouver fans to help us keep BC Place rocking and make Seattle green with envy of the show of support for the Blue & White.
Like a good knosh while watching footie? Since you’ll be doubling up on matches, why not double up on food as well. From 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT, hot dogs and burgers are 2-for-1 throughout the stadium and the Steveston Fish & Chips (located by Section 212) will be selling two-piece fish meals for the price of a one-piece fish meal. If gourmet eats are more your thing, then dig into some “South Sliders” (Texas style Pulled Pork Sliders) being offered by Culinary Team BC located at Section 250 at 12 p.m. PT. There’s also a sweet deal for suite holders, as Vikram Vij will be preparing a special menu.
However you slice it, Saturday’s event is one that you won’t want to miss out on. So grab your friends, grab some tickets, and grab some grub at BC Place and get ready for a feast for the senses!
