Whitecaps FC begin preparations for Real Salt Lake re-match

Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie

Today, Vancouver Whitecaps FC were back at training to prepare for their next match on Saturday, August 11, on Bell Pitch at BC Place against Western Conference rivals Real Salt Lake. The players had a lively session, as they had been off for a couple of days. The training session was done in front of several hundred Whitecaps FC supporters, as part of the club's open practice - sponsored by Sport Chek.

In exciting news for ‘Caps fans, young striker Omar Salgado was present at training today, with the United States youth international out of his cast and rehabbing with the club's head of sports medicine and science Rick Celebrini. Brad Knighton also looked very sharp, as he was tested in a variety of situations by goalkeeping coach Marius Rovde and in game action by his teammates. Knighton looks to be in fine form, as he prepares for what looks to be his first MLS start of the season against RSL.

Whitecaps FC also welcomed Canadian international defender Nana Attakora into the mix at training today. Attakora will be training with the team for the remainder of the week.
