Anticipation and excitement filled the air as over 300 fans waited patiently for their chance to see their favourite soccer superstar. The lineup outside BMO's Coquitlam Centre branch began just after noon, two hours prior to the anticipated arrival of ‘Caps defender and South Korean soccer legend Young-Pyo Lee. As time ticked down and the line grew longer, our mascot Spike jumped in with his classic antics to help entertain the many anxious supporters.
After waiting eagerly, the clock struck 2 p.m., and BMO kicked off the autograph signing with an energetic introduction to the crowd on hand and a loud cheer from fans of “Go Whitecaps Go” that could be heard for blocks.
For the next hour and a half, Lee signed everything from soccer jerseys to iPad cases. Much to the pleasure of his adoring supporters, he took pictures with almost every fan.
