Vancouver Whitecaps FC and star striker Darren Mattocks will be at partner club Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club’s fifth Annual Thanksgiving Tournament this weekend.
The tournament will run from Saturday, October 6 to Monday, October 8 at Coquitlam Town Centre. Whitecaps FC striker Darren Mattocks will be available for autographs on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Whitecaps tent next to club partner Danone, who will be offering samples and prize draws. In addition Whitecaps FC staff will work in conjunction with Danone and Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club to select 10 players from tournament play to be provided with direct access to the Danone Nations Cup selection camp in BC on November 24 and 25. Players will have an opportunity to represent Canada at the 2013 Danone Nations Cup.
This is competitive youth tournament open to select boys and girls U-11 and U-12 teams. Teams will play a minimum of three games with finals to be played on the Monday. Tournament registration is sold out, but anyone is welcome to come view the matches and meet Darren Mattocks on Saturday.
