Whitecaps FC reserves wrap up season away to LA Galaxy

Vancouver Whitecaps FC reserves (3W-4L-2D) play their final match of the MLS Reserve League season when they take on Los Angeles Galaxy reserves (5W-3L-1D) at The Home Depot Center on Friday. The match kicks off at 10 a.m. PT with regular updates via our Twitter feed: @WhitecapsFC

Boosted by the long-awaited return of striker Omar Salgado, the ‘Caps second string will be looking to finish their season on a high after suffering a 2-1 home defeat to San Jose Earthquakes reserves in their most recent outing last month.
In the previous match-up between Whitecaps FC reserves and Galaxy reserves in June, Los Angeles ran out 3-1 winners at UBC Thunderbird Stadium. Canada U-20 representative Bryce Alderson was the lone scorer for Vancouver.

Aside from the inclusion of Salgado - who hasn’t played since fracturing his foot playing for the United States U-20 team in June - there will once again be a mix of players from the senior team and the Residency program.

Brazilian midfielder Tiago Ulisses played his first match in Whitecaps FC colours against San Jose and he impressed with his composure on the ball. Head coach Martin Rennie will be looking for a similar effort from the import.
Also, four players from Whitecaps FC’s Residency teams will be given valuable playing time against experienced opponents.
Striker Brody Huitema, midfielder Kianz Froese and defenders Sam Adekugbe and Jackson Farmer will be making the trip to California along with trialist Jacob Lensky.
