First day of training in Charleston

Rennie preseason in Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC - Following a full day of travel on Wednesday, Whitecaps FC kicked off their 11-day camp at the College of Charleston on Thursday afternoon.

Head coach Martin Rennie's first on-field session at their training home while in Charleston, primarily focused on team shape. Following lunch, the group split into two groups for a recovery session at the gym.

The team will return to the gym tomorrow morning, participate in the Carolina Challenge Cup media luncheon at Blackbaud Stadium, and finsh Day 2 with a late afternoon on-field session. For more information on the Carolina Challenge Cup, visit - charlestonbattery.com.

- Yesterday Whitecaps FC staff and 32 players arrived in historic downtown Charleston.


- Left back / central midfielder Alain Rochat returned to training today following a couple sick days at home.


- Ghanaians trialists Aminu Abdallah and Emmanuel Adjetey stayed in Vancouver to sort out some paper work and are expected to join their teammates in the coming days.


- MLS Supplemental Draft pick Adam Clement, who trained with the 'Caps in Casa Grande, Arizona, will arrive in Charleston late on Friday night.
