Great weekend at Whitecaps FC Cup

WFC Cup

Over 70 youth teams descended on South Surrey April 6 and 7 to take part in the annual Whitecaps FC Cup presented by Danone.

Hosted at South Surrey Athletic Park by partner Club Coastal FC ,  U-9 to U-12 teams from across the province and Alberta played a minimum of four games against teams of similar age and skill level.

In addition to the competition, Whitecaps FC coaching staff were selecting a number of players to compete in the Danone Nations Cup Provincial Camp— the world’s largest international soccer tournament for youth.

Sunday included a visit and presentations by Whitecaps FC stars Omar Salgado, goalkeeper Simon Thomas and defender Greg Klazura. Whitecaps FC mascot Spike was also on hand to interact with the teams and players and help Danone provide free samples of its danactive yogurt.
