Vancouver Whitecaps FC are asking all fans that are attending the match this coming Saturday, June 15 against New England Revolution to bring non-perishable food items in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The first 450 fans to donate three food items or a $5 monetary donation will receive a Vancouver Whitecaps FC player-autographed pennant, on a first-come-first-serve basis. ‘Caps fans will also have opportunities to win other great Whitecaps FC prizes at the match.
Donations will be accepted at ‘Caps Kickoff from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. PT at the Purolator booth as well as at all entrance gates. Purolator will also donate an extra 250 pounds of non-perishable food items for every corner kick during the match. Last year, approximately 8,500 pounds of food were donated during the Purolator Tackle Hunger Food Drive.
All donations raised through this initiative will stay within the community, supporting local food banks right here in Vancouver. Whitecaps FC hope that all our fans and supporters in attendance will work together to Tackle Hunger and support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank on June 15.
