Whitecaps FC practice with members from the Vancouver Street Soccer League

Vancouver Street Soccer

Sporting their new Whitecaps FC kits, Vancouver Street Soccer (VSS) had a special visit from ‘Caps players Greg Klazura and Kekuta Manneh and club ambassador, Carl Valentine. At their practice, the players got the chance to meet the ‘Caps, ask questions, and get some tips from the pros.

Vancouver Street Soccer is a program that uses soccer to inspire and empower at-risk youth. It provides a place of friendship for the homeless, physical fitness for the ill and addicted, and direction for vulnerable youth. VSS has grown over the years and now has a total of nine teams, including teams on the North Shore.

Two players from VSS are preparing to represent Canada in the 2013 Homeless World Cup in Poland. This World Cup will involve 250,000 participants around the world from 70 nations and promises to use soccer as a tool to improve the lives of the homeless.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC is proud to work with Vancouver Street Soccer.
