Round 28 is opening a door for a tough few weeks in September for fantasy goers. With international duty ready to interfere with Round 29 which is also a double game week for Houston, Columbus, Seattle and Chivas USA, fantasy managers are left with more questions than answers. If that's not complicated enough, the following week also features double games for Toronto and Chicago.
Planning the next 3 weeks is vital for success albeit difficult and costly. To save you transfers and spending points we highlight a few key players that can be utilized in not just this week but also the following double game week.
Brad Davis ($8.8m), Houston Dynamo – Quite a few soccer fans and analysts were surprised that the American midfielder was left out of the US Men's National Team for the upcoming games, but we're very thankful he was. With key midfielders leaving for international duty and only a select few high profile players and teams playing double games the following week, Brad Davis is at the top of our list for Rounds 28 and 29.
Carlos Bocanegra ($4.8m), Chivas USA – Very big value play here. Looking ahead your goal is to have 11 players on double games for round 29. How you get there is up to you, whether it's a wildcard or spending on transfers. Nevertheless Bocanegra fits your bill. If you want to max out your team with games you have to feature a couple Chivas players. Bocanegra is an integral part of Chivas' team and his price fits any budget. Also keep in mind that this week he takes on a Vancouver Whitecaps FC team that has only one win in their last six.
Michael Gspurning ($5.5m), Seattle Sounders FC – By far the best goalie choice for the next 2 rounds. This week facing a Columbus Crew team without their star Higuain ($9.7m) and then the following week having a double home fixture vs Chivas USA and Chicago Fire. It goes without saying that the expectation of two clean sheets is not out of the question for this Seattle squad.
Mauro Rosales ($8.5m) and Osvaldo Alonso ($7.8m), Seattle Sounders FC –These are your go to guys in the midfield over the next two rounds With Clint Dempsey ($9.4m), Brad Evans ($7.1m) and Eddie Johnson ($9.7m) heading off to international duty after this coming week and Obafemi Martins ($8.6m) struggling with an ankle injury. If there's any offense in the next three games for Seattle, chances are it will be coming through these two guys.
