Vancouver Whitecaps FC won a pair of silver medals at the 2013 PromaxBDA Sports Media Marketing Awards Tuesday in New York City.
The 'Caps came second in the “Best pre-game team introduction, opening or halftime video” category for their 2013 in-stadium match intro video, as well as the "Just Cause" category for the club's various community outreach initiatives. Houston Dynamo were the gold medal recipient in both categories.
Whitecaps FC were the only club nominated for each of the four awards for Major League Soccer teams. Their "Our all. Our honour." campaign was also among the finalists for the “Best integrated team marketing and branding campaign” and "Best spot" categories.
