Fantasy Forecast: MLS Cup Edition

FantasyForecastFinal

Well we're at the end Fantasy Managers. What a ride it was. Where are you in the standings? Are you fixed where you are? Or perhaps one final kick at the can could bump you a few spots to a prize position?
Sporting Kansas City vs Real Salt Lake
A final is always tough to predict, but we fancy Kansas City to take the title this year and getting to do it at home should give them even more to play for.
Goalkeeper
Jimmy Nielsen ($5.7m) simple and short, we believe he's the winning keeper here.
Defenders
Nielsen's season has benefited from one of the best back lines in the league. Aside from your obvious choices of Aurélien Collin ($6.8m), Matt Besler ($5.9m) and Seth Sinovic ($5.8m), it could be a savvy play to put Chris Schuler ($5.1m) into your line for pure bonus point potential.
Midfielders
After you select Graham Zusi ($9.5m), Javier Morales ($9.1m) and Kyle Beckerman ($8.4m) you're left with a question. What else? Well there's not many attractive prospects left, we believe this will be a tight game. A tight game catering your defensive core, so running 4-5 defenders in this defensive bonus bonanza is definitely a good idea.
Forwards
It's been a fair while since we've since an MLS Cup final with no dominant strikers. Fortunately for Real Salt Lake Alvaro Saborio ($9.6m) appears healthy for the game. As we stressed, this is a defender orientated game but you must pick a forward to fill out your team. There's nothing wrong with banking on Saborio as he's arguably the most talented striker of the bunch, but our gut is saying C.J. Sapong ($8.4m) as he faired rather well in his last game and we believe he could be the man to net the decisive goal on Saturday.
It's been a long season fantasy goers with a lot of ups and downs, but I hope you've had as fun and entertaining a journey as we did. We wish you all the luck in this final and look forward to seeing your new and improved teams next year.
