Canadian national TV networks TSN, RDS reveal extensive broadcast packages for 2014 MLS season

Canadian national television networks TSN and RDS released their national broadcast packages for the 2014 Major League Soccer season on Monday, including the details on four all-Canadian matchups this year..


TSN will broadcast 90 regular-season matches this year – including all WFC matches – and RDS will air 30 games, all featuring the Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, or Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

TSN and RDS platforms will also have exclusive coverage of the MLS Cup playoffs, MLS Cup 2014 and the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game on Aug. 6 at JELD-WEN Field in Portland.



TSN’s first match of the season will be March 8 in Vancouver, when the Whitecaps host the New York Red Bulls in the first game under new 'Caps head coach Carl Robinson. RDS will begin its regular-season broadcasts on March 22 in Montreal, when the Impact host the Seattle Sounders.


TSN will also air Toronto FC’s season opener – and the expected debut of star acquisitions Michael Bradley and Jermain Defoe – against the Sounders on March 15, as well as the team’s home opener against D.C. United on March 22.



TSN and RDS schedules feature four all-Canadian matches, including Montreal at Vancouver on June 25, Vancouver at Toronto on July 16, Toronto at Montreal on August 3, and Montreal returning the visit on October 18 in Toronto.


All MLS games on TSN, TSN2, RDS and RDS2 can be seen live on TSN Mobile TV and Télé Mobile RDS.
