SANTA CRUZ, CA - Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency teams wrapped up their weekend in California with a pair of convincing victories against Santa Cruz Breakers Academy on Sunday. The U-18s responded from disappointment on Saturday to roll to an 8-0 victory, while the U-16s kept their momentum going with a 7-2 win.

For the second consecutive match, the 'Caps U-18s got out to a 3-0 lead. However this time, they would not relinquish it.

On Saturday they allowed De Anza force to storm back and tie the match 3-3, preventing the Blue and White from taking the full three points. Sunday's 3-0 lead eventually turned into an 8-0 victory.

Matthew Chow and Mason James led the way with a hat-trick each, while Mitch Piraux and Dario Zanatta chipped in with a goal apiece.

"We're really happy with the positive reaction from yesterday's frustration in finishing with a draw," said Whitecaps FC Residency staff coach Steve Meadley. "Right from the opening whistle until the end, the boys never took their foot off the gas."
