Whitecaps FC to host members of the Pride community this Sunday at BC Place

Pride

In anticipation of the 36th Annual Vancouver Pride Parade, Whitecaps FC will welcome members of Vancouver Pride Society, Out For Kicks, New West Pride, and Qmunity to BC Place on Sunday when the ‘Caps take on FC Dallas. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. PT. Single match tickets remain available at whitecapsfc.com/tickets.

As part of the club’s support for fairness in the locker room, ‘Caps players will wear the official Whitecaps FC Pride Scarf as they enter the pitch for pre-match ceremonies on Sunday. Pride Scarves will be available for purchase at all merchandise locations at BC Place during Sunday’s match. $10 from the sale of every Pride Scarf will go towards supporting You Can Play, an organization dedicated to ensuring equality, respect, and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation.

In addition to Sunday’s match, fans can also purchase a Pride Scarf online at whitecapsfc.com/shop. Take a stand against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, and show your support of the LGBT community with Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

On August 3, Whitecaps FC will march in the 2014 Pride Parade in support of equality in sport, led by Whitecaps FC defender Jordan Harvey and fiancée and recording artist Kimberly Caldwell. The club will also be participating in New West Pride, scheduled to take place from August 8 to 16.

If you would like to bring a group of 10 or more to Sunday’s match at BC Place, contact Christine Dunsworth at 604-484-7862 or cdunsworth@whitecapsfc.com.
