How the 'Caps celebrated Jordan Harvey's birthday

Harvey training - birthday

Jordan Harvey let his guard down for one minute – and he paid the price.

Wednesday was Harvey's 31st birthday and the 'Caps celebrated it by dumping an ice-cold bucket of water on him at the end of training (video below).

“Throughout the whole day, everybody has been really great wishing me happy birthday, singing to me during prehab and stuff like that,” Harvey told whiteapsfc.com. “So once the practice ended I was hoping [Martyn Pert] didn’t bring anything up when he was giving a little talk. But I felt that something was coming. And when he moved us over to a stretch, they came up from behind and got me good.”

Harvey added that he was appreciative of the gesture, as uncomfortable as it may have been.

“It’s super nice,” Harvey said as he flinched with Steven Beitashour coming up from behind him again during the interview. “It really makes you feel like a huge part of the team. Now we just need to carry this through to everybody else’s birthday. Everybody else needs to get this shower at the end of practice like I did. I’ll be sure to make that happen.”
