Who's going to win the Super Bowl?

Beita and Brady

It’s prediction time!

With the 2015 Super Bowl just around the corner, we asked five Vancouver Whitecaps FC players to see who they think will lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy on Sunday.

Here’s what they had to say...

Steven Beitashour: New England Patriots
“Tom Brady is on fire right now. The ball really fits well into his hand, so he’s really throwing it well. Gronk is healthy and I know Seattle has been there but I just think New England has the experience for having been there four or five times. I think they’re a little bit upset at the last two that they didn’t win so I think they’ll win this one.”

Christian Dean: New England Patriots
“I’m a 49ers fan so I can’t cheer for the Seahawks. Also, Tom Brady is a Bay Area boy so I’ll go for him. I think it’s going to be a pretty close, but high-scoring game. I’ll go with 38-35 New England.”

Jordan Harvey: Seattle Seahawks
“The main reason I’m going with the Seahawks is that they’re so close to Vancouver so I need a team to root for. It’s very close. We have a lot of Seahawks fans here in Vancouver. And Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch rode me to a fantasy football victory so I have to stick with them.”

Pa-Modou Kah: Seattle Seahawks
“Of course Seattle is going to win. Marshawn Lynch is going to run some touchdowns. We’re in the Pacific we have to support them.”

Tim Parker: New England Patriots
“I like Seattle and I like the way they play, but I just think it’s Tom Brady’s time. I don’t think he can lose another SuperBowl after losing his last two. And I think this time around New England is probably the best they’ve been so I think Brady will finally actually get one again.”
