Vancouver celebrities support our shirt selfie initiative

Selfie Contest

As part of a special MLS-wide initiative for 2015 we’re giving our Season Ticket Members the opportunity to have selfies on their favourite players’ back.

The initiative gives fans the chance to show their support like never before, by uploading images that will be featured on the team’s jersey numbers during the month of August.

We’ve already had a fantastic response from our Season Ticket Members, some of whom may be more familiar to you than others. After all, there are several famous faces among the Blue and White faithful; celebrities who come to support the team alongside the rest of our fans.

So whose face might you recognize on our shirts when they’re unveiled in August?

Colin O’Donohue

The Irish actor who’s best known for his role as Captain Hook in the Vancouver shot series Once Upon A Time, is also a loyal Whitecaps FC Season Ticket Member. Colin can regularly be seen cheering on the Blue and White from the sidelines, but next year you’ll be able to see him on our shirt too as Captain Hook himself has already uploaded his selfie to our number 7!

Miss 604

Vancouver blogger / author Rebecca Bollwitt, otherwise known as Miss 604; is another face you might recognize. The award-winning wordsmith and longtime ‘Caps fan was one of the first Season Ticket Members off of the mark when it came to uploading her selfie onto our 2015 jersey.

Jody Vance & Riaz Meghji

When they’re not hosting City’s Breakfast Television show, early birds Jody Vance and Riaz Meghji can be found in the stands at BC Place cheering on the boys in Blue and White. Avid supporters of the team they were among the first fans out of the gate when the initiative was launched and will be wearing their jerseys with pride come August.

Have you uploaded your shot to our shirt yet? Which number did you choose? Let us know in the comments section below.
