Whitecaps FC concluded preseason by going undefeated in three matches at Portland’s Simple Invitational Tournament, winning 1-0 against the host Portland Timbers, 3-2 over Norwegian side Stabæk, and drawing 1-1 versus Chicago Fire. Overall, the ‘Caps went 4W-2L-2D in preseason, with newcomer Octavio Rivero leading the team with three goals in six appearances.
