MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Manneh for one match, Rodriguez for two

Kekuta Manneh vs. Collin - Orlando

NEW YORK, NY – The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced today that Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Kekuta Manneh has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent in the 65th minute of the game against Orlando City SC on March 21.

Manneh will miss Saturday’s match against Portland Timbers and be eligible to return next weekend when the 'Caps host defending MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy at BC Place.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has also suspended Whitecaps FC defender Diego Rodriguez for two games and fined the player an undisclosed amount for violent conduct towards Orlando City SC defender Aurelian Colin in the 62nd minute of the March 21 game between the two teams.

As a result, Rodriguez will miss Vancouver’s next two matches.

“I respect the decision,” Rodriguez said. “This is not in my nature and apologies for my actions. It will not happen again and I will continue to work hard for the club and our fans.”
