This weekend’s match is the first of three consecutive home games at BC Place for Whitecaps FC. Tickets are already selling fast for the club’s following home match on Saturday, April 4 against LA Galaxy. Fans are encouraged to act now to see the ‘Caps take on the defending MLS Cup champions in their only encounter in Vancouver this year.
“It’s going to be another raucous atmosphere at BC Place on Saturday,” said Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi. “We were very pleased to earn two hard fought road wins. Now we need our fans to help us continue that momentum with our next three matches at home.”
For the third consecutive year, in support of Whitecaps FC’s commitment to youth soccer, an additional 1,500 young fans and their families will be at the match on Saturday. These additional seats have been made available to those participating in the Whitecaps FC adidas Cup which is taking place in Surrey on Saturday and Sunday. The sold-out tournament will see 250 teams participate, which are made up of girls and boys between U-9 and U-12.
Whitecaps FC currently sit tied for second in MLS after winning consecutive matches on the road against Chicago Fire and Orlando City SC. Striker Octavio Rivero continued his hot start, scoring the winning goal in each match to extend his goalscoring streak to three straight matches to start the season.
