Maybe Matias Laba should shoot more often.

The popular defensive midfielder hit a long-distance screamer on Saturday at Providence Park, helping Vancouver Whitecaps FC battle back to earn a 1-1 draw with Portland Timbers.

As expected, Laba's equalizer has been nominated for MLS Goal of the Week.

The 23-year-old Argentine is up against Fabian Castillo, Sacha Kljestan, Javier Morales, and Lee Nguyen in a who's who of some of Major League Soccer's top midfielers.
