NEW YORK, NY – The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced today that Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Cristian Techera has been suspended for one match and fined an undisclosed amount for violent conduct that endangered the safety of an opponent in the 93rd minute of the game at Portland Timbers on July 18 (VIDEO).
Techera will miss Sunday's home match against San Jose Earthquakes and will be eligible to return the following week when the 'Caps visit Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field on August 1.
Both Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Portland Timbers have also been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy following their match on July 18 (VIDEO).
