Tegucigalpa landing

Hello, Tegucigalpa.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC have touched down in Honduras’ capital city ahead of Thursday’s CONCACAF Champions League match against C.D. Olimpia.

If you haven’t heard, Tegucigalpa has one of the world’s most “extreme” airports - partly due to the surrounding mountainous terrain and short runway (7,000 feet compared to 11,500 feet at YVR), and partly due to the quick drop in altitude and frequent winds.

So how was the landing?

Glad you asked. Check out the video below courtesy of Whitecaps FC striker Robert Earnshaw. Earnshaw and goalkeeper Marco Carducci also snapped a few photos at the team’s hotel.
