Major League Soccer announced tonight that next Sunday’s match between Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Portland Timbers at BC Place will kick off at 7 p.m. PT.
The ‘Caps head home with everything to play for after earning a scoreless road draw at Providence Park earlier today. With the away goals rule in effect, the ‘Caps need a win at BC Place to advance to the Western Conference Final, where they will meet either FC Dallas or Seattle Sounders FC.
Portland could advance with a draw if they score at least one goal. Another scoreless draw would send the match to extra time and potentially a penalty shootout.
This will be Vancouver’s first-ever home playoff match in MLS.
