“It was a decent performance from the boys with some great passing moments,” noted Thompson on Sunday. “Daniel Sagno put in great work today to set up the goals, and the back line was organized and strong.”

U-16
The U-16s earned a 7-1 win on Saturday over Santa Cruz Breakers.

Terrell Smith, Noah Verhoeven, Alan Camacho (2), Michael Baldisimo (2), and Gabriel Escobar provided the scoring at Cloverdale Athletic Park. The last three goals came despite being down a man after a red card was shown to centre back Brendan Skinner.

“Overall a pleasing display,” said U-16 head coach Adam Day after the match. “We were dominant early and were rewarded with four quick goals. After the red card, we had to adjust how we played, but arguably we were stronger.”

The goals kept coming on Sunday as the ‘Caps earned an 8-1 victory against De Anza Force.

Georges Mukumbilwa, Andres Charles-Barrera, Michael Baldisimo (2), Verhoeven, Camacho, Joel Harrison, and Travis Selje had the goals in the Sunday match.

“Another solid showing and in general another pleasing performance,” said Day on Sunday. “I felt we got a little bit complacent at 2-0 and conceded a goal to make it 2-1. On another day, the game could have gone a different direction and that is something that we have to be more aware of. That being said, it was a strong showing offensively.”
