VANCOUVER, BC – As part of festivities leading into Sunday’s sold-out playoff match (suites remain available at whitecapsfc.com/suites), Vancouver Whitecaps FC will be holding an official Fan Rally on Saturday, ‘Caps Kickoff Downtown presented by BMO and in support of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The event will take place at the Vancouver Art Gallery from 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT. Attendees will have the chance to get their very own BMO #BringItHome white playoff tee to wear to the match on Sunday, as well as participate in activities and games, purchase additional merchandise, and win exclusive prizes - including tickets to Sunday's match.
Former Whitecaps FC defender and Korean soccer legend Young-Pyo Lee will be on hand signing autographs from 12 to 12:30 p.m. PT.
“Sunday’s match will be the biggest for the club in our young MLS history,” said president Bob Lenarduzzi. “We look forward to a boisterous sea of white that will lift our players and provide that extra boost of energy needed to win the match and advance to the Conference Championship.”
The club is encouraging all attendees on Sunday to wear white to the match as the ‘Caps #BringItHome for the second leg of their Conference Semifinal against Portland Timbers. The two teams come into the match on level terms after a 0-0 draw in the first leg at Portland’s Providence Park this past Sunday.
Should Whitecaps FC win on Sunday, they will advance to the Western Conference Championship to take on the winner of the other Conference Semifinal between FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders FC.
