VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC did not make a selection in Stage One of the 2015 MLS Re-Entry Draft, which was held via conference call on Friday afternoon.

Only two players were selected. Former Portland Timbers striker Max Urruti went to FC Dallas at first overall, while Sporting KC selected ex-Chicago Fire goalkeeper Alec Kann at 11th overall.

Players selected in Stage One of the Re-Entry Draft will be able to sign with their new club for their current contract option for 2016. Players unselected in Stage One will be eligible for Stage Two (next Thursday, Dec. 17 at 12 p.m. PT); picks from Stage Two will negotiate new deals with their new clubs.

Two of Vancouver’s Re-Entry eligible players opted out of the draft: Steven Beitashour and Pa-Modou Kah, who has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the club.
