VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to host Montreal Impact at 2:30 p.m. PT in their 2016 season opener (TSN 1/3 and TSN 1040 radio).


Here’s a look at Vancouver’s starting lineup:

Carl Robinson’s first starting XI of 2016 includes nine returning players from 2015 and two newcomers: right back Fraser Aird and midfielder Christian Bolaños.


There are also two newcomers on the bench in strikers Masato Kudo and Blas Pérez.


Vancouver’s starting lineup features two Canadians: Aird, 21, and Whitecaps FC Residency graduate Kianz Froese, 19. This will be Froese’s second MLS regular season start and first at home. Canadian fullback Sam Adekugbe is also on the bench.


Goalkeeper David Ousted, who agreed to a multi-year contract extension last month, starts his 85th consecutive MLS match (including playoffs).


New father Matías Laba gets the start with his own father in attendance. 


Christian Dean (left foot) and Russell Teibert (left calf strain) are both out with injuries, while Nicolas Mezquida (hip) and Erik Hurtado started for WFC2 today as they work their way back to full fitness.
