Ousted makes 'phenomenal' saves in 3-0 win over league-leading FC Dallas

VANCOUVER, BC – David Ousted has outdone himself. Again.

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC goalkeeper made four saves on Saturday night in a 3-0 win over league-leading FC Dallas – and all four of them made the highlight-reel.

“He had a couple of saves that I’ve not seen in a long time,” FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja told reporters. “I thought he had a tremendous night.”

Ousted’s best save of the night came in the 50th minute, when he denied FC Dallas leading goalscorer Michael Barrios from close range with a spectacular reaction save using his left palm – a stop Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson described as “phenomenal” following the match.

In addition to the saves he made, Ousted also rushed off his line and hurried Fabian Castillo into a pair of misses after the Colombian got in behind the ‘Caps back line.

Oh, and he was doing things like this just for fun.

Deserved clean sheet and Budweiser Man of the Match selection? I’d say so.
