Today’s XI is the same side that defeated San Jose 2-0 on September 10 at BC Place.

Goalkeeper David Ousted will be making his 42nd consecutive MLS start with the club, which is the most on the team. Ousted is the only ‘Caps player this year to start and play every minute of MLS regular season action.

Right back Steven Beitashour returns to the starting XI after missing the last match with a hip injury, the same injury that made him miss the D.C. United game on September 6. Beitashour will be making his 108th start in MLS regular season play.

Experienced centre back Andy O’Brien will be making his 43rd MLS regular season start and 20th this year. O’Brien, at 1,718 minutes played this season in MLS, has played the most minutes of the six centre backs used this year.

Centre back Kendall Waston, who was named the Whitecaps FC Budweiser Man of the Match in two of his four starts, will make his fifth consecutive start and sixth appearance for the club.

Left back Jordan Harvey, who holds the club MLS record by a defender in appearances, starts, minutes played and goals, will be making his 183rd MLS regular season appearance today. Harvey has started all but one MLS regular season match this year and is second in the team, behind Ousted, with 2,399 minutes played.

Including MLS regular season, MLS Cup Playoffs, and Amway Canadian Championship matches, today is Harvey’s 100th appearance for Whitecaps FC. Harvey joins midfielder Gershon Koffie and former striker Camilo with 100 or more appearances with Whitecaps FC while in MLS.

Midfielder Mauro Rosales, who was named the Whitecaps FC Budweiser Man of the Match in two of his four starts, will make his fifth consecutive start and sixth appearance for the club. This afternoon will be Rosales' 94th start in MLS and his 113th appearance.

Midfielder Matías Laba will be making his 43rd regular season appearance in MLS and 26th as a member of Whitecaps FC. At 2,227 minutes played, Laba has more MLS regular season minutes than any other Whitecaps FC front six player this season. Only Ousted (2,520) and Harvey (2,399) have played more minutes in 2014.

Whitecaps FC captain Pedro Morales, who leads the club with eight goals and 10 assists, will be making his 23rd MLS regular season start tonight. Morales has appeared in all but one MLS regular season match for Whitecaps FC this year.

Midfielder Russell Teibert will be making his seventh consecutive start for the first time this season – matching the longest run in his career (July 20 to September 1, 2013). Today is also Teibert’s 24th MLS regular season appearance this season, equaling his career-high set in 2013.

First year MLS winger/striker Sebastián Fernández will be making his 21st start this season. Fernández has appeared in all but one MLS regular season match for Whitecaps FC this year.

Striker Erik Hurtado, who calls Beaverton, Oregon home, will be making his 15th MLS regular season start of the season and 19th as a pro. Four of his five MLS regular season goals have come on the road, more road goals than any other Whitecaps FC player this season.
