#OrlandoUnited: 'Caps, Revs stand with Orlando Saturday at BC Place

On Saturday afternoon at BC Place, Vancouver Whitecaps FC stood with Orlando.

In the wake of last weekend’s fatal shooting at a LGBT nightclub in Orlando, both Whitecaps FC and New England Revolution walked onto the pitch wearing Vancouver’s rainbow-coloured pride scarves and black armbands in remembrance of the victims.

A moment of silence was held shortly later.

‘Caps goalkeeper David Ousted also wore a rainbow-coloured captain’s armband, while the Vancouver Southsiders displayed a pride TIFO and “Love Football, Hate Homophobia” sign.

“Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families of this horrendous attack,” Ousted said this week. “These things have to stop.”
