It was the Free Agent Frenzy in Canada – and it was a similar story across the pond.
The English transfer window opened today and Crystal Palace was busy, acquiring French international goalkeeper Steve Mandanda and former Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend, who spoke about this month's tour to North America in the video below.
Mandanda, a four-time Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year, is currently with the French national team at Euro 2016 – one of five Crystal Palace players at the tournament. Townsend, meanwhile, joins Palace after spending the 2016 season with Newcastle United.
Also today, now ex-Palace striker Dwight Gayle made the move to Newcastle.
Reports suggest that Palace may not be done just yet, as they’re rumoured to have significant interest in Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.
The English Premier League is coming to Vancouver.
