Fan of Canadian footy? Then buckle up for a busy weekend.
On Friday morning at 3 a.m. PT (yes, you read that right), Canada’s senior men’s national team will face South Korea in an international friendly to be streamed live on CanadaSoccer.com. Four Vancouver Whitecaps FC players were called up for this match: defenders Fraser Aird, David Edgar, and Marcel de Jong, and midfielder Marco Bustos.
Then on Saturday, WFC2 fullback Kadin Chung and the Canadian U-20 men’s national team will face Honduras’ U-20s in the first of two friendlies in Tegucigalpa.
Finally, Canada will kick off the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup later on Saturday with a match against Spain (9:50 p.m. PT on TSN1/5). All three of Canada’s matches will be broadcast live on TSN. Canada’s roster includes Whitecaps FC Girls Elite BC Soccer REX fullback Emma Regan – one of two 16-years-olds on the roster.
