PROFILE
Kara Lang returns to the Whitecaps after a three year hiatus. In addition to her on-field responsibilities, Lang will assume the newly created position of Whitecaps Women's Ambassador. Lang will play a lead role in increasing the awareness and growth of both the female game and the Whitecaps Women's Soccer Series. In addition, Lang will build relationships through visits with local clubs, players, and coaches. The veteran striker will also play a part in the boardroom as the honourary chairperson for the club's Net Works group - a committee of local corporate and community leaders established to raise funds and community support for women’s sport in British Columbia.

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC
Lang returns to the Whitecaps after a one-year spell with two-time United Soccer Leagues (USL) W-League champions Pali Blues. The native of Oakville, Ontario, first joined the ‘Caps in 2003. Over her four seasons with the women’s team, Lang started 22 of her 28 appearances for 2,086 minutes of action. The ‘Caps won their first-ever W-League title during Lang’s sophomore year in 2004, while in 2006, she scored four goals in three matches before suffering from a season-ending knee injury during the club’s run to their second W-League championship title. Lang currently sits eighth on Vancouver’s all-time career leader list with 13 goals and seven assists for 31 points from 2003 to 2006.

INTERNATIONAL
The playmaker is widely recognized for her immense success with the Canadian women’s national team.  Making her first appearance at the young age of 15, the midfielder/striker has earned 88 senior international caps and scored 33 goals for her country. In 2002, she helped Canada win the silver medal during her country’s hosting of the FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship. As a member of the senior squad, Lang helped Canada reach the semifinals of the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the quarterfinals of the 2008 Women's Olympic Football Tournament.

COLLEGE
She has also displayed similar poise during her college soccer career, having joined the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as the number one college soccer recruit in 2005. In four seasons with the Bruins, Lang recorded 32 goals and 19 assists for 83 points.
