The Whitecaps FC Girls Elite program is a funded player development program for U17/ U18 girls that will evolve over the next two years.
The Whitecaps offer a funded, full-time U18 training development program for players who have been identified to move beyond community club soccer. As with previous years' players in this program will train and compete from September to July as full-time Whitecaps youth.

- Individualized programs target areas of player ability and deficiency using statistical and video analysis
- Team concepts, tactical applications, injury prevention, and athletic nutritional requirements
- Age specific training with emphasis on speed of play and performance criteria
- The Girls Elite program will be based out of the Whitecaps FC Training Centre at SFU with the additional use of Whitecaps resources at Burnaby Lake 8-rinks facility. Future plans include a state of the art National Development Training Centre.
The Whitecaps are committed to collaborating with partner clubs, and the provincial and Canadian national team programs. As British Columbia’s only professional club the Whitecaps are dedicated to working with other clubs to produce a pipeline of talented young players that supports both the Whitecaps and the Canadian national teams. The Whitecaps will continue to work closely with BC Soccer on the development of new opportunities for young players in the province. This includes supporting the new EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League.
Entrance into the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite program at the full-time U18 level is by INVITATION only. Players selected for the U18 program will train and compete with the Whitecaps removed from their community club. Players invited into this program are done so based on an ongoing evaluation process.
