Whitecaps FC Girls Elite began as a funded player development program for U-17/ U-18 girls and has now evolved to include part-time players in the U-16 age group who continue to play matches with their respective EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League clubs.
Whitecaps FC offer a funded, full-time U-18 training development program for players who have been identified to move beyond community club soccer. As with previous years' players in this program will train and compete from September to July as full-time Whitecaps youth.

- Individualized programs target areas of player ability and deficiency using statistical and video analysis
- Team concepts, tactical applications, injury prevention, and athletic nutritional requirements
- Age specific training with emphasis on speed of play and performance criteria
- The Girls Elite program is based out of the Whitecaps FC Training Centre at SFU with the additional use of Whitecaps FC resources at Burnaby Lake 8-rinks facility. Future plans include a state of the art National Development Training Centre.
Whitecaps FC are committed to collaborating with partner clubs, and the provincial and Canadian national team programs. As British Columbia’s only professional club, Whitecaps FC are dedicated to working with other clubs to produce a pipeline of talented young players that supports both Whitecaps FC and the Canadian national teams. Whitecaps FC will continue to work closely with BC Soccer on the development of new opportunities for young players in the province. This includes supporting the new EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League.
Entrance into the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite program at the full-time U-18 level is by invitation only. Players selected for the U-18 program will train and compete with Whitecaps FC and be removed from their community club. Players invited into this program are done so based on an ongoing evaluation process.
